Each summer, Allegan County Sheriff's Department and Saugatuck Yacht Club team up to host two Boater's Safety Courses in June and July. Upon the successful completion of the class, attendees will receive their Boater's Safety Certificate.
Through this course you will learn:
Classes are open to anyone 12 years of age or older and are provided in 2 day sessions. All course materials are provided and there is no charge to attend any of these courses, but pre-registration is required.

- Safe operation of a personal watercraft
- Age requirements for operators of different types of watercraft
- Equipment and registration requirements for different types of watercraft
- Types and uses of personal flotation devices
- Rules of the road for boaters
